Privacy Policy
Randonautica respects your privacy and collects only the information necessary to provide and improve the app's core features. When you create an account, we store your email address to set up your profile, keep track of purchases, sync your data across devices, and send occasional notifications, which you may opt out of at any time. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any point, or you can delete your account directly in the app's Profile settings, which will also fully anonymize any remaining data on our servers. The app requires location access to generate nearby coordinates, support in-app navigation, and display local trip reports. Coordinates you generate are stored for system analysis and for your personal use if you choose to bookmark them. When you log a trip report, the app may request permission to use your camera or media files.
## Analytics and Session Replay
To help us understand how people use Randonautica and make the app better, we use PostHog, a product analytics tool. This includes tracking in-app events (such as which features you interact with) and, on some screens, session replay, which records your on-screen activity so we can see how the app is being used and help us identify bugs or points of confusion. Session replay is configured to exclude maps, location data, photos, and text input fields, so this sensitive content is never captured. We do not use any of this data for advertising.
Users located in the EU or UK are excluded from PostHog analytics and session replay by default — no event tracking or session recording takes place for accounts in this region. All other users are opted in by default but may turn off analytics and session replay at any time in the app's Privacy settings.
## Sharing and Security
Randonautica does not sell your personal information or location data, and we do not share it with third parties for marketing purposes. We work with a small number of trusted service providers, such as PostHog, who process data strictly on our behalf to help us operate and improve the app, under contractual obligations to keep it confidential and secure. All data remains protected and is used solely to support your experience within the app.
